Mother Care Clinic is a Life Style Disease Clinic for women in Kashmir. It was started in 2003 keeping in view  the lack of awareness , avenues and support for women in prevention and treatment of Life Style Disorders. The Culture ,the Climate and the Conflict in this region together have created a very conducive environment for their ill health…mental,social and physical.

There is unprecedented rise in the numbers of Obesity and associated illnesses like Diabetes, Hypertension, PCOD, Infertility, Osteoarthritis, Sleep Apnea, General Anxiety disorders and Depression .Their quality of life is poor and one can see them busy in never ending visits to doctors offices ,labs,diagnostic centers and pharmacies ,but very reluctant in making even simple preventive life style changes. 

By age of forty ,one or more lifestyle disorders have already set in and the age related slowing of body metabolism,mental and physical  challenges of peri  and post menopause,makes the things worse and  pose a huge burden on health care system.Our Clinic reiterates the belief that such a huge burden can be lessened with simple but consistent life style changes in diet, physical activity, behavior ,sleep and also with stress management.
